We, at the Urban Music Academy are going to blow the roof off the entire music production industry.

We will show you the techniques and production secrets that professionals don't want you to know. By teaching you a formula which you can apply to any type of music, you will have the tools needed to:

• analyze your competition and break down their beats

The Urban Music Academy will teach you how to take any song and decompose it. From this analysis you will then be able to make a template for individual songs and specific genres. By using the template you found and replacing various elements, you can create professional sounding music in any style. Come learn exactly how the professionals are doing it and what they're doing it with.

What You Need

If you have basic computer skills and a love for music then the Urban Music Academy can teach you the rest. You will need to have:

• access to a computer outside the school on which you can install software and use regularly.

Part of your development as a producer will be to get comfortable performing these techniques in your own studio environment. This may consist of no more than a home computer and a pair of headphones. Weekly assignments will be evaluated and incorporated into a large group project in which your individual strengths will merge with the talents of the other team members.

What You'll Learn

The courses are composed of 3 and 6 hour sessions in one of the finest studios that Toronto has to offer. The basis of our course covers the entire scope of what an urban music producer needs to know in order to compete in the new generation. The UMA course topics are divided into two levels:

The first group is geared to raise your Technical Intelligence Level. Classes include topics such as Computer Setup, Midi/USB/Fire wire implementation, Sequencing Software, Audio Recording, Digital Sampling, Synthesis, Software Instruments, Effect, Mixing Board use and Signal Flow, Mixing, Mastering, and the basics of the Music Biz.

The second category will raise your Musical Intelligence Level. These topics include Analyzing Music, Song Decomposition, Samples, Song Composition, working with Vocalists and Vocal Editing.

What effects do music and sound waves have on matter and water? How can we use music to influence people?
